USS Constellation CV 64 is an aircraft carrier that served in the United States Navy from its commissioning in 1961 until its decommissioning in 2003. The ninth ship to bear the name, it was a Forrestal-class conventional aircraft carrier with a displacement of approximately 57,000 tons and a length of over 1,000 feet (305 meters). During its active service, the USS Constellation provided air support during the Vietnam War, the Gulf of Sidra conflict, and various peacekeeping operations. It was decommissioned in 2003 and is currently moored as a museum ship in Baltimore, Maryland. The vessel has a significant place in the history of the U.S. Navy due to its role in numerous important events and its innovative technology for that time period.
